Troubleshoot an offline monitoring camera Prepared 22 October 2026 by NightMarshal First identify whether the fault affects one camera, a recorder or the whole site. Confirm the coverage gap, notify its owner and use an agreed fallback while authorized staff check power, local video and the remote path. Instructions 1. Notify the coverage gap and check other views. 2. Escalate power, recorder or network checks to the authorized owner. 3. Retest video and events before closing the fault. Open the blank CSV in a spreadsheet app; add one row per item. Use Pending for unknowns and N/A only where a field truly does not apply. Review the separate example CSV; all example values are fictional. Keep completed sheets private. Do not include passwords, access codes, personal contacts, footage links or camera stream URLs. No input is collected by these downloads. Fields View or group Last good time Local recording Other views affected Owner Restoration test Fictional example Fictional fault: all cameras on recorder B disappear remotely but remain visible on site. IT investigates the recorder’s remote connection rather than replacing each camera. Limits Do not open electrical equipment or make unauthorized network changes. Physical checks belong to trained site or installation staff.
