Write a monitoring outage playbook Prepared 22 October 2026 by NightMarshal An outage playbook should identify the affected coverage, its owner, approved fallback and restoration test. Separate local recording from remote review: one may continue while the other is unavailable. Instructions 1. Name the outage scope and responsible role. 2. Notify the gap and activate only approved fallback measures. 3. Verify restoration and reconcile the unsupported period. Open the blank CSV in a spreadsheet app; add one row per item. Use Pending for unknowns and N/A only where a field truly does not apply. Review the separate example CSV; all example values are fictional. Keep completed sheets private. Do not include passwords, access codes, personal contacts, footage links or camera stream URLs. No input is collected by these downloads. Fields Outage type Affected duty Notification owner Approved fallback reference Restoration test Fictional example Fictional outage: the site internet fails while the NVR keeps recording. The duty manager applies its temporary site procedure and later requests an authorized review of the gap interval. Limits No fallback in this template guarantees equivalent protection. Emergency and physical response arrangements must be approved separately.
