Why moving subjects blur on night cameras Prepared 22 October 2026 by NightMarshal A camera may show a sharp empty scene while blurring a moving person. Evaluate moving footage and ask the installer to balance exposure, illumination and the detail needed for the task. Instructions 1. Record moving footage at the required distance. 2. Request an installer assessment of exposure and lighting. 3. Repeat the task test and record what detail remains unavailable. Open the blank CSV in a spreadsheet app; add one row per item. Use Pending for unknowns and N/A only where a field truly does not apply. Review the separate example CSV; all example values are fictional. Keep completed sheets private. Do not include passwords, access codes, personal contacts, footage links or camera stream URLs. No input is collected by these downloads. Fields View Task Distance description Moving detail Correction Accepted limit Fictional example Fictional review: the empty yard looks clear, but a walking person smears near the gate. The team assesses lighting and exposure before using that view for alert decisions. Limits No universal shutter setting or identification distance is recommended. Equipment and scene conditions determine the result.
